MIAMI (CBS4) – Miami-Dade Police have arrested two people in connection with a home that was discovered to have more than 80 dogs living in squalid conditions last week.
Miami-Dade Police arrested Maria Y. Crespo and her mother, Teresa Horta-Barrial, on over 100 charges of misdemeanor animal cruelty for the situation discovered last week.
An anonymous report of animal cruelty that was filed through the county’s 311 Answer Center tipped off investigators to the horrific conditions the dogs were living in.
Once investigators got to the home, they found dogs that did not have suitable living conditions with puppies and dogs crammed together in small cages, and standing in one to two inches of waste like it was mud.
